Facing an uphill battle after the first five innings, the Cerritos College baseball team wasn't able to come back in a 14-5 South Coast Conference loss to Los Angeles Harbor College on Tuesday. The Falcons (4-18, 3-9), who trailed 13-0, scored five of the final six runs of the game. The two teams will meet up on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Kincaid Field.

In the top of the sixth inning, sophomore outfielder Cody Ahrens (Mayfair HS/Hope International University) singled and moved to second base on a base hit by sophomore shortstop Aaron Paek (Sunny Hills HS/Hope International University). Sophomore outfielder Michael Gonzalez (St. Bernard HS) drew a walk to load the bases for sophomore first baseman Roberto Salazar, Jr. (Fullerton HS), who cleared the bases with a double.

Ahrens drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning that plated freshman third baseman Alejandro Bueno (Centennial, NV HS), while a two-out single by Bueno in the eighth inning accounted for the team's fifth run.

Freshman starting pitcher Nicholas Martinez (La Serna HS), who tossed a complete game shutout against El Camino College in his last start, struggled against the Seahawks. In three innings of work Martinez (1-3) allowed eight runs (six earned), while the last three pitchers each tossed one inning and allowed just one unearned run. Freshman Wyatt Hall (Long Beach Millikan HS) became the 12th player to take the mound for the Falcons this season and allowed one unearned run in the seventh inning.
