Playing their fifth straight road game to start the season, the Cerritos College men's basketball team received double-digit scoring from four players in a 70-53 win at Allan Hancock College on Wednesday. The Falcons (2-3) will play their first home game of the season next Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. when they take on Porterville College.

Locked in a back-and-forth battle through most of the first half, Cerritos turned a 25-23 deficit into a 33-28 lead at intermission after sophomore Taeo Thomas (Verbum Dei HS) and freshman Dillon Botts (Mayfair HS) each scored four points down to stretch to put the team in front.

A pair of lay-ups by sophomore Miles Ceballos (Crossroads HS/Ventura College) to open the second half extended the lead to 37-28, while a three-pointer from sophomore Eric Clark (Cerritos HS) with 13:54 remaining gave Cerritos their biggest lead of the game at 46-34. Freshman Darron Henry (Long Beach Poly HS) drilled a three-pointer, followed by a pair of free throws from Thomas with 11:34 left to extend the lead to 53-37.

The Bulldogs (4-3) would only get as close as 14 points, as the Falcons posted the comfortable win.

Thomas (18 points) led all scorers on the night and added six rebounds, with Botts coming off the bench to add 16 points to go along with three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Cerritos also received 12 points, five assists and four rebounds from Ceballos, with Henry checking in with 10 points.
