After a sophomore season where he earned All-South Coast Conference South Division Honorable Mention, Cerritos College forward Cameron McCoy (Taft HS) has committed to Langston (OK) University. In his sophomore year, McCoy averaged 10.0 points and 6.8 points a game for the Falcons, who won the SCC South Division championship and concluded the season with a 20-10 record.

In a critical game against crosstown rival Long Beach City College, McCoy scored a career-high 39 points, which included going 14-for-20 from the field and netted 11-of-12 free throws. He ended the season with 12 double-digit scoring games, which also included a 19-point effort against Citrus College. Along with his 39 points against the Vikings, McCoy also hauled in a season-high 14 rebounds and had seven games where he registered 10 or more rebounds.

He will be joining a Lions team that went 35-2 on the year and reached the NAIA National Championship game, where they fell, 71-67 to Freed-Hardiman (TN) University in the finals. Seeded #1 in the nation, the Lions also won the Sooner Athletic Conference regular season and conference tournament titles for the second straight year. It also marked the first time in program history that the team advanced to the National Championship game. They have five graduating senior forwards and were looking for someone to add an offensive punch to their lineup.
