For the first time since January 11, 2019, a member of the Cerritos College men's basketball team recorded a rare triple-double. In the Falcons 85-57 South Coast Conference South Division win over visiting El Camino College on Wednesday, sophomore Miles Ceballos (Crossroads HS/Ventura College) turned in the impressive feat, as he scored 14 points, pulled down 13 rebounds and dished out 10 assists. Ceballos is the first player since Jamal Heckard, who had 12 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists in a 102-50 win over Rio Hondo College.

With the outcome of the game already determined after the Falcons (10-9, 1-0) outscored the Warriors (7-12, 0-1) 28-10 in the final 10 minutes of the game, the only undetermined part of the game would be if Ceballos picked up his 10th assist. Last Friday against Rio Hondo, Ceballos was one assist shy of a triple-double. With 1:18 remaining in the game, Ceballos fed freshman Darron Henry (Long Beach Poly HS), who knocked down a three-pointer to cap off the performance.

The Falcons were able to open a quick 20-10 lead over El Camino, but after that advantage swelled to 38-18, the Warriors got to within 40-24 at intermission. A 16-8 run to start the second half made it a 46-34 lead after a jumper by ECC's Billy Ray Barnes with 15:34 left on the clock. The Warriors were able to hang around for the next several minutes, but a fast-paced offensive attack by Cerritos proved to be too much and the team pulled away for the comfortable win.

Sophomore Everett May (Los Alamitos HS) led the Falcons with 16 points, with 11 of them coming in the second half, while freshman Dillon Botts (Mayfair HS) posted 13 points. The trio of sophomores Eric Clark (Cerritos HS), Taeo Thomas (Verbum Dei HS) and Cameron McCoy (Taft HS) each produced nine points, while Cerritos received three-pointers from eight different players. On the night, they converted 13-of-27 and they committed a season-low four turnovers.
