M. Basketball: Another close game goes against Cerritos

For the third time this season, the Cerritos College men's basketball team suffered a loss by three points or less. Against host Porterville College on Thursday, the Falcons (3-6) dropped a 71-68 decision, while the team will look to rebound on Friday at Fresno City College.

Coming off the bench to lead the team was sophomore Taeo Thomas (Verbum Dei HS), who scored 16 points and added four rebounds, while sophomore Everett May (Los Alamitos HS) drained four three-pointers and finished the night with 15 points along with three rebounds. Sophomore Eric Clark (Cerritos HS) posted a season-high 14 points, while he also pulled down a season-high six rebounds.

As a team, the Falcons shot 35% from the field, but converted 78.9% of their free throws, which was their second best game percentage of the season.

Sophomore Cameron McCoy (Taft HS) led the team with 10 rebounds to go with his eight points and three assists, while Darron Henry (Long Beach Poly HS) and Miles Ceballos (Crossroads HS/Ventura College) combined for 15 points.
