M. Basketball: Cerritos holds off Fresno City for 73-68 win

Completing a two-game trip to Central California, the Cerritos College men's basketball team posted a 73-68 win over host Fresno City College on Saturday afternoon. It snapped a three-game losing streak to the Rams, which dated back to 2017-18. The Falcons (4-6) will now travel to Los Angeles Pierce College for a 3:00 p.m. game next Saturday.

Cerritos shot 51% from the field and were led by freshman Dillon Botts (Mayfair HS), who scored 18 points off the bench, which included a trio of three-pointers and five assists. As a team, the Falcons had five players score in double-figures, while they hot nine three-pointers in the win.

Sophomore Eric Clark (Cerritos HS) contributed a career-high 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting and three three-pointers, while sophomore Cameron McCoy (Taft HS) added15 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Clark also added five rebounds. Sophomore Everett May (Los Alamitos HS) had 11 points and four rebounds before fouling out, with sophomore Miles Ceballos (Crossroads HS/Ventura College) turning in a strong all-around game with 10 points, three rebounds and three assists.

The Falcons played the game without sophomore Taeo Thomas (Verbum Dei HS), who is second on the team with an 11.3 scoring average and 4.8 rebounds a game.
