Facing a team that had only three players, the Cerritos College men's tennis team had not problem defeating host Cypress College on Thursday. The Falcons won all three singles matches and the lone doubles match, with the team receiving forfeit wins in five other competitions for their 9-0 non-conference win. The team will now travel to Riverside City College on Friday for a 2:00 p.m. non-conference match against the team that defeated them in the Southern California Regional Playoffs last season.

Moving up to the #1 singles position for the day was freshman Nicholas Simonelli (Long Beach Wilson HS), who recorded a 6-3, 6-2 win over Joelle Pamplona. Also moving up a few spots in the ladder was freshman Sheldon Hseih (Long Beach Poly HS), who shut out Bruno Santos, 6-0, 6-0, while sophomore Mark Herrera (Bosco Tech HS) also recorded a shutout in his first match of the season.

In the lone doubles match, Herrera teamed with freshman Simon Graff (Clements, TX) for an 8-4 win over Pamplona and Santos.
