Trailing after doubles competition was completed, the Cerritos College men's tennis team went on to win four of six singles matches to post a 5-4 win over Saddleback on Tuesday. The Falcons (6-2) have now won four matches in a row and will open South Coast Conference play next Tuesday at Mt. San Antonio College.

The top of the singles and doubles ladders for Cerritos held strong, as sophomore Nathan Eshmade (Kings Baptist, Australia HS) recorded a 6-1, 6-0 win, with freshman Amadi Kagoma (Malezi School, Kanya HS) registering a 6-2, 6-1 victory. At first, it appeared that Kagoma had lost his first set, only to discover that he had been turning the wrong numbers on the score pad. The duo also earned the team's lone win in doubles, 8-0.

The match came down to #6 singles, as freshman Edgar Munoz (Paramount HS) needed three sets to defeat Wally Reza, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. The other three-set match came in the #3 singles, with freshman Nicholas Simonelli (Long Beach Wilson HS) dropping a 6-4, 5-7, 3-6 decision. The Falcons other singles win came from freshman Sheldon Hseih (Long Beach Poly HS), who defeated Ethan Muskins, 6-0, 6-3.
