After one of the most impressive individual efforts in history, Cerritos College sophomore track and field athlete Juanita Webster was named the CCCAA Female Athlete of the Month for May.

In helping the Falcons win their third straight CCCAA State Championship with a state record 149.5 team points, Webster recorded 48 points by herself, which included winning four individual state championships. She concluded the season winning the heptathlon, 100-meter HH, triple jump and long jump, while recording the state's best mark in three of those events. Additionally, Webster, who will be transferring to UNLV, finished in second place in the javelin and competed in a combined 12 events (seven in the heptathlon).

Nationally, her 5471 heptathlon points were the best in the country; her time of 13.65 in the 100-meter HH was the second best, as was her triple jump of 12.96 meters; her high jump of 1.75 meters was third; her 6.10 meters in the long jump was fourth; and her javelin throw of 42.72 meters was sixth. Webster also led the Falcons to their third straight Southern California Championship by winning three events, while they picked up their fifth consecutive South Coast Conference title.

Webster adds to a long line of Cerritos athletes who have received the state's Athlete of the Month Award. The Falcons lead the state with 22 total awards (11 for men and women). She is also the second track and field athlete honored since the award was given, joining Jessica Barfield in 2009 after she won the state heptathlon title.
