Competing at the Legends of Track and Field Invitational at UCLA over the weekend, the Cerritos College women's track and field team saw one school record fall. Freshman thrower Mystasia Alexander (Lynwood HS), who broke the school record in the javelin last week at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, eclipsed her best distance on Saturday at UCLA.

Alexander finished third in the javelin, but her distance of 44.15 meters broke the old standard she set the week before at 43.68 meters. She was only defeated by a pair of Washington State University throwers, who turned in distances just three feet further. Alexander also competed in the discus and finished in second place at 38.22 meters. She was only beat by freshman teammate Ailinisilose Williams (Paramount HS), who recorded a throw of 43.47 meters. Williams also finished sixth in the shot put at 11.52 meters.

Sophomore jumper Lilian Ebanks (Valencia HS) finished in third place in the triple jump with a leap of 11.01 meters, while sophomore Symone Addo (La Serna HS) took eighth place in the long jump with a distance of 5.00 meters.

In running events, freshman Rebecca Harris (Buena Park HS) came in fifth place in the B race of the 800 meters with a time of 2:20.47, while freshman Bailee Wilkerson (Mayfair HS) was clocked in 2:25.92 to finish in second place in the C race of the 800 meters.

Cerritos will host the Southern California Heptathlon Championships April 4-5.
