Arguably the best all-around athlete in the history of the Cerritos College women's track and field program, sophomore Juanita Webster (Redlands HS) broke the school record in the 100-meter HH at the Cal State Long Beach Invitational on Saturday. Running in the fifth heat of the day, Webster posted a time of 13.83, which eclipses the old record of 13.90 set by Alexus Dalton in 2014.

With the Falcons gearing up for the South Coast Conference Prelims on April 24 at El Camino College, Webster ranks first in Southern California in four events, while she has already set a school record in points in winning the SoCal championship in the heptathlon. Webster is currently first in Southern California in the 100-meter HH (13.83), high jump (1.75 meters), long jump (5.81 meters) and triple jump (11.99 meters), along with her 5471 heptathlon points. Add that to her third best javelin (41.32 meters), fourth fastest time in the 200 meters (25.12) and sixth fastest 400-meter IH (1:05.05) and Webster can be considered the best-ever in Cerritos history.

In addition to her school record in the hurdles on the day, Webster came in tied for seventh place in the high jump (1.70 meters) and was 29th out of 72 entries in the long jump at  5.62 meters. She was only bested by four-year athletes and unattached entries.

Also competing for the Falcons, sophomore sprinter Meka Story (Gahr HS) finished second in her heat of the 200 meters with a time of 25.13 and ran the anchor leg of the 400-meter relay team that came in fourth place. That foursome consisted of sophomore Lilian Ebanks (Valencia HS), freshman Kymberlynn Jackson (University Prep HS), sophomore Breanna Curry (University HS) and Story, as they posted a season-best time of 46.64, which ranks them second in Southern California. Freshman Javelin thrower Mystasia Alexander  (Lynwood HS), who currently holds the school record, came in 21st place with her distance of 41.82 meters.
