For the second time this season, the Cerritos College women's tennis team swept through their South Coast Conference opponent for a 9-0 win, as they defeated Long Beach City College on Thursday. The Falcons (5-2, 2-0) will host Saddleback College at 2:00 p.m. on Friday in a non-conference match.

In four of the six singles matches, Cerritos did not surrender a game, as they all won, 6-0, 6-0. In the #2 position, freshman Anastasia Khomyachenko (Sochi, Russia) led the way, while freshmen Mariia Yatsenko (School 328, Ukraine) and Katia Brambila (Bell HS), along with sophomore Merli Alcasid (Gahr HS) also recorded wins.

At the top of the ladder, freshman Taylor Heath (Cerritos HS) had the closest match in defeating Nikki Tigas, 6-4, 7-5, with sophomore Stef Flores (Golden Valley Charter HS) posting a 6-2, 6-1 victory in the #3 position.

All three doubles teams won by 8-1 scores.
