The Cerritos College women's tennis team traveled to Northern California over the weekend and posted wins in both of their matches. The Falcons (14-3) recorded a tough 5-4 win over the host Rams and then handed Reedley College a 9-0 defeat. The team will host Mesa (AZ) CC at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday in a non-conference match.

Cerritos vs. Fresno City: In what turned out to be the difference in the match, the doubles pairing of freshmen Taylor Heath (Cerritos HS) and Mariia Yatsenko (School 328, Ukraine) recorded an 8-6 win in the doubles match. All of the other matches in the day were straight set wins, with the #1 doubles being the closest of the day. Freshman Anastasia Khomyachenko (Sochi, Russia) and sophomore Stef Flores (Golden Valley Charter HS) teamed for an 8-4 doubles win, while they each won their singles matches. Khomyachenko posted a 6-4, 6-2 win in the #2 singles match, while Flores won, 6-1, 6-2. Yatsenko dominated Macy Elliott, 6-0, 6-0 in #4 singles action.

Cerritos vs. Reedley: The Falcons had little trouble defeating the Tigers, as none of the singles players lost more than two games. Heath and Yatsenko recorded an 8-0 doubles win, while Heath lost just two singles games and Yatsenko completed the weekend without dropping a game in singles. Khomyachenko (6-1, 6-1) and Flores (6-1, 6-1) teamed for an 8-3 win in doubles, as did freshman Katia Brambila (Bell HS) and sophomore Merli Alcasid (Gahr HS). The two also won their singles matches in solid fashion.
