On Friday, the Cerritos College men's track and field team sent a limited squad to compete in the Riverside Early Bird Meet. The Falcons had several good performances and will look for more improvements on February 19 when they host the Cerritos Open.

In field events, Micah Norfles finished in the top five in two events. He turned in a distance of 36.32 meters in the hammer to come in second place, with teammate Casanova Ah-Fook finishing in fifth place at 32.99 meters. The discus saw Norfles able to compete against Division I school University of Minnesota. His throw of 36.15 meters earned him fifth place, with Minnesota taking three of those top five spots, with a member of the host Tigers recording a second place finish. High jumpers Alan Tabales and Trysten Minter came in fifth and sixth places, respectively. Tabales cleared 1.90 meters, with Minter able to clear 1.85 meters.

Caleb Dunomes posted a fifth place time in the 600 meters with a clocking of 1:27.78 and also ran the first leg of the 1600-meter relay team that came in sixth place. He was joined by Bryce Pearson, Jordan Miller and Colby Owens to turn in a time of 3:35.63.
