A trio of former Cerritos College women's basketball players played a role in helping Hope International University post a win over the defending NAIA National Champions. Seniors Andrina Rendon and Shawna Staves, along with junior Marissa Rendon helped the #17-ranked Royals defeat Westmont College, 60-49. Andrina Rendon, who was an All-American selection last year, was also named the Golden State Athletic Conference Player of the Week after averaging 26 points, 12 rebounds and six assists.

In the win over Westmont, Andrina Rendon led the way with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Staves contributed 10 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots, with eight of her points coming on the free throw line. Marissa Rendon, who came off the bench, hauled in three rebounds in the Royals (15-5) win.

She led the team with a 14.7 scoring average and a 7.0 rebounding average on the year. Rendon was also an outside shooting threat, as 53 of her 116 baskets on the year were from three-point range, while she also led the way by netting 83-of-102 free throws for an .814 percentage. Rendon was also a 1st Team All-SCC selection her freshman year.
