After suffering a pair of losses at a tournament, the Cerritos College women's basketball team rebounded to register a 69-43 non-conference win at MiraCosta College on Friday. The Falcons (2-2) will now get a few weeks off before they enter the College of the Sequoias Tournament and will open against Reedley College at 2:00 p.m. on December 5.

In the win over the Spartans (0-4), Cerritos out-rebounded their hosts, 50-28 and received double-digit scoring from three starters. Sophomore forward Alii Salone (Gahr HS) was inserted into the starting lineup and responded with a game-high 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting, while she also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. Freshman center Selena Romero (Lakewood HS) accounted for 13 points and five rebounds, with sophomore forward Nia Lateju (Norwalk HS) added 12 points and four rebounds.

The Falcons jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, as they took a 41-24 lead into halftime. The bench saw a lot of quality minutes, with freshman Jasmine Todd (Long Beach Wilson HS) posting five points in nine minutes, while freshman Cassidy Carrillo (St. Paul HS) recorded four points and six rebounds. Sophomore guard Jacalyn Saiza (Santa Fe HS) dished out three assists and scored eight points.
