Facing two of the best teams in the state in the span of three days is a daunting task for any team. For the Cerritos College women's basketball team, they faced top-ranked East Los Angeles College on Wednesday and came back two days later to face #2-ranked Mt. San Antonio College in a South Coast Conference crossover game on Friday that was played at El Camino College. The Falcons (5-13) will now open South Division play on Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. home game against ECC Compton Center.

In their 88-45 loss to the Mounties (19-1), the game started with an 11-0 run by Mt. SAC, and after a three-point play from freshman Alexis Clark (Mayfair HS) with 6:00 left in the first half, the team trailed 13-5. The score would be 24-10 by the end of the first quarter and the Cerritos would never be able to get close to striking distance.

As a team, Cerritos shot just 27% from the field, compared to 52% for the Mounties, while 22 turnovers also hurt the team. Aside from freshman Crystal Rodriguez (El Rancho HS), who had five offensive rebounds (nine total), the Falcons weren't able to get second and third chances on the offensive end of the court. They were out-rebounded 49-34, with sophomore Kaylyn James (Lakewood HS) posting six rebounds.

Clark led the team with 13 points and was 6-of-11 from the field, while sophomore guard Angie Ferreira (Long Beach Millikan HS) netted a pair of three-pointers and finished with 12 points. Rodriguez also scored nine points for the Falcons, with freshman Christina Mina (Bellflower HS) adding five points, which accounted for all of the team's scoring on the night. The three-player Cerritos team bench was outscored, 36-0.
