After winning their first two South Coast Conference South Division games, the Cerritos College women's basketball team suffered their first defeat. The Falcons (7-14, 2-1) were handed an 80-63 setback at the hands of visiting Los Angeles Harbor College (10-10, 1-2) on Wednesday night. The team will look to rebound on Friday when they travel to Long Beach City College for a 7:00 p.m. divisional game.

Trailing by as many as 11 points late in the first half (41-30), Cerritos scored the first seven points of the second half to get to within 41-39. Freshman Angie Ferreira (Long Beach Millikan HS) drained a three-pointer with 8:06 left in the third quarter to draw the team as close as they would get in the game. The Seahawks responded by scoring the next nine points and went on to lead by double-digit points the remainder of the game.

The biggest daggers against Cerritos came from Paris Lucci, who netted six three-pointers in the game and finished with 28 points, while her sister Tiffani Lucci contributed 20 points and 10 rebounds. On the night, the Falcons out-rebounded LA Harbor, 51-47, but shot only 25% from the field, compared to 48% by the Seahawks.

Freshman Alexis Clark (Mayfair HS) led the team with 15 points and scored 12 points, but was only 4-for-15 from the field, while sophomore Kaylyn James (Lakewood HS) was good on just 4-of-21 shots and concluded the game with 12 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Crystal Rodriguez (El Rancho HS) pulled in 10 rebounds to go with her eight points, while Ferreira led the team with 14 points. Off the bench, freshman Mele Valele (Norwalk HS) added nine points and six rebounds.
