In their second match against an NCAA DIII school, the Cerritos College women's tennis team posted a 9-0 win over visiting Whittier College on Saturday. The Falcons (2-1) have picked up both of their wins against DIII schools and will host Riverside City College at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

With the return of sophomore Danielle Pastor (Bishop Montgomery HS), Cerritos had their full compliment of players, while the Poets (0-1) had only five players in uniform. Pastor, who played in the #3 singles position, earned a 6-1, 6-3 win, while she teamed with sophomore Elizabeth Aceves (Downey HS) for an 8-1 doubles victory. Aceves also posted a 6-1, 6-3 singles win.

At the top of the singles ladder, freshmen Petra Such (Gyula Illyés, Hungary) and Diviana Bravo (Unidad Educativa Rosa de Jesús Cordero, Ecuador) posted straight set wins, while they recorded an 8-4 doubles victory. Such earned a 6-3, 6-1 win over Amanda Rodriguez, with Bravo surrendering just one game in her 6-0, 6-1 win. In the #5 singles match, sophomore Mona Navalta (Norwalk HS) won her first set, 6-2, while she was extended in the second set, but came away with a 7-5 victory.
