Continuing to compete with only five players, the Cerritos College women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to visiting Glendale College on Friday. The Falcons (5-3) will get a few days off until they host El Camino College at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in a South Coast Conference match.

After dropping the three doubles matches, which included a forfeit in the #3 position, the Falcons knew they needed to win all five of the scheduled singles matches to pull out the team victory. With only five players, due to the injury to freshman Diviana Bravo (Unidad Educativa Rosa de Jesús Cordero, Ecuador), Cerritos also had to forfeit the #6 singles match.

At the top of the singles ladder, freshman Petra Such (Gyula Illyés, Hungary) did her part with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Hailey McNall, while sophomore Elizabeth Aceves (Downey HS) earned a 6-3, 6-4 win in the #3 spot on the ladder. Aside from a three-set, 6-2, 6-3, 5-10 loss to sophomore Mona Navalta (Norwalk HS), the Falcons were swept in the other two matches.

They gave the Vaqueros a battle in both of the doubles matches, but came up short, 8-5, and 8-6.
