On Thursday, the Cerritos College women's tennis team recorded an 8-1 South Coast Conference win over visiting El Camino College. The Falcons (6-3, 2-0) remained undefeated in conference play and will now play their next five matches on the road, starting with a 2:00 p.m. match on March 10 at Ventura College.

Cerritos welcomed the return of freshman Diviana Bravo (Unidad Educativa Rosa de Jesús Cordero, Ecuador), who missed the last two matches with an injury. Her insertion into the lineup allowed the team to play with a full squad, and helped them pick up extra wins in singles and doubles. Playing in the #3 position, Bravo posted a 6-3, 6-2 singles victory and teamed with freshman Petra Such (Gyula Illyés, Hungary) for an 8-3 doubles win.

Such earned a solid 6-1, 6-0 singles win in the #1 position, with sophomores Elizabeth Aceves (Downey HS) and Mona Navalta (Norwalk HS) each winning by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores. The shorthanded Warriors surrendered team points in the #6 singles and #3 doubles match. Both Such and Bravo, along with Aceves and sophomore Danielle Pastor (Bishop Montgomery HS) each recorded 8-3 doubles wins.
