The Cerritos College men's track and field team won four events on Saturday at the Cerritos Invitational. The Falcons, who will be hosting the Cerritos Quad Meet on Friday, picked up first place finishes in both running and field events during a cold and rainy day.

Leading the way for the team was sophomore Adam Aguirre (California HS), who picked up a win in the high jump, while he was also second in the long jump and finished third in the javelin. Aguirre, who set the school record in the high jump at the first meet of the year, cleared a high of 2.08 meters on Saturday, while his long jump of 6.76 meters was just shy of the first place distance of 6.92 meters. He also posted a throw of 52.08 meters in the javelin for a second place finish, with teammates Aaron Martin (Carson HS) and Jake Ostgaard (La Mirada HS) coming in fifth (47.35 meters) and sixth (45.83 meters) places, respectively.

Earning a win in the 110-meter HH was freshman Mackenzi Rickman (Carson HS) with a superb time of 14.68, with freshman Thomas Cheval (Birmingham HS) placing fourth in 15.36, while Martin was fifth in 15.37. Freshman sprinter Lee Lawson (Dorsey HS) won the 100 meters in 10.79, with Falcon runners taking the top four spots in the 800 meters. Sophomore Jonathan Bazinet (California HS) crossed the finish line first in 1:56.41, edging out freshman Francisco Ortiz (Katella HS), who came in second in a time of 1:56.68. Not far behind was sophomore Jesus Morales (Huntington Park HS) in 1:57.44 in third place, while sophomore George Robinson (Washington Prep HS) finished in fourth place at 2:00.27.

Rickman also came in fourth place in the 400-meter IH in a time of 56.58, while sophomore Elvis Salinas (Norwalk HS) added a fourth place time of 4:16.42 in the 1500 meters. In the hammer throw, sophomore Samuel Do (Kennedy HS, Guam) took fifth place with a distance of 42.21 meters, with freshman Matthew Seawright (Long Beach Millikan HS) in sixth place at 39.03 meters.
