M. Swimming: Falcons finish SCC Championships in fourth

With three teams fighting for second through fourth place at the South Coast Conference Championships, the Cerritos College men's swimming team settled on fourth place after the final event. The Falcons, who finished with 599 team points, were also in contention with Long Beach City College (658.5 points) and El Camino College (640.5 points), who came in second and third places, respectively.

Leading the way on the final day was the 400-yard freestyle relay team that posted a third place time of 3:15.22 and edged out El Camino, who turned in a fourth place time of 3:15.77. That quartet consisted of sophomore Marcus Delgado (La Serna HS), sophomore Henry Rodriguez (Downey HS), freshman Randy Baldwin (Buena Park HS) and freshman Marlon Moreno (Colegio Virgen del Rosario, Venezuela HS).

Earlier in the day, Moreno swam in the 100-yard freestyle and turned in a fourth place time of 48.14, with the top seven finishers all finishing within one second of each other. Baldwin registered a sixth place time of 2:01.64 in the 200-yard butterfly, with sophomore Jacob Ramsaur (La Serna HS) taking eighth place in 2:09.87. Freshman Mitchell Bowman (Lakewood HS) touched up in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:08.46, which earned him a seventh place finish, while freshman Alan Pae (Kennedy HS) also came in seventh place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:14.86.
