In their first home action of the season, the Cerritos College men's water polo team earned a pair of wins. The Falcons (5-3, 1-0) opened with a 24-5 South Coast Conference victory over Rio Hondo College and followed that with a 20-7 non-conference win over Cal Tech. The team will play a pair of games next Wednesday, as they travel to Los Angeles Pierce College to take on the Brahmas and then Cal Lutheran.

Cerritos vs. Rio Hondo: The Falcons didn't take long to open up an early lead against the Roadrunners (0-3, 0-1) and needed only 3:40 of the first period to go up, 6-0. It was 7-1 after the first period and then 14-1 by intermission. The lopsided win allowed everyone to see action and nine different players scored more than one goal for the Falcons. Sophomore Matthew Skinas (La Serna HS) led the way with four goals and three assists, while the trio of Jesus Rojas (Colegio Fray Luis Amigo, Venezuela), Jeffrey Park (Cerritos HS) and Anthony Govani (Garden Grove HS) all added three goals. Sophomore Peter Roldan (Downey HS) posted five steals, while sophomore Cody Anderson (Valencia HS) accounted for three assists and three steals. The goalie tandem of Alfredo De La Mora (Bell Gardens HS) and Ariel Prado-Madera (Buena Park HS) each posted four blocks.
