After placing second in the South Coast Conference, the Cerritos College men's water polo team has been seeded #3 for the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The Falcons (22-9) will be taking on #6-seeded Cuesta College (21-10), the third place team out of the Western State Conference, at 12:45 p.m. on Friday at Mt. San Antonio College. A win would advance the team to a 9:45 a.m. game on Saturday, while a loss would end their season. All games this weekend will be played at Mt. San Antonio.

The Falcons came in second place at the South Coast Conference Tournament over the weekend, as they dropped a tight 13-12 decision to rival Long Beach City College in the finals. Of the team's nine losses, four have come against the Vikings (the last two by one goal), two against top-seeded Golden West College and one against #5-seeded Citrus College.

This will be the first meeting this year between the Falcons and Cougars. Cerritos is led by freshman Angel Rojas, who leads the team with school record  numbers in goals (139), assists (91) and steals (97), with sophomore Marlon Moreno adding 105 goals on the year. Sophomore goalie Alfredo De La Mora has posted 188 blocks in 22 games, while four other players have scored at least 30 goals on the year.

Logan Smith leads Cuesta with 75 goals on the year, with John Hartshorne right behind with 71 goals. Gabe DeSimone has posted 57 assists and 55 steals, while the tandem of Sal Arredondo and Clint Doucette have recorded 136 and 112 blocks, respectively.
