M. Water Polo: Team records 10th win in a row

The Cerritos College men's water polo team earned their 10th win in a row after defeating El Camino College, 22-3 in a South Coast Conference game on Monday. The Falcons (12-3, 2-0) saw 12 different players score goals in the victory over the Warriors. On Wednesday, the team will travel to Mt. San Antonio College (10-4, 2-0) for a 4:15 p.m. conference match.

Freshman Anthony Govani (Garden Grove HS) led the lopsided win with five goals and added four steals, as the Falcons led 8-0 after the first period and 12-1 at halftime. Contributing three goals each were freshmen Israel Rodriguez (Whittier HS) and Enrique Abundis (Whittier HS), while freshman Jeffrey Park (Cerritos HS) recorded six assists.

Sophomore Cody Anderson (Valencia HS) registered five steals, with Cerritos coming up with 28 as a team over the Warriors. Govani (four steals), Rodriguez (three steals) and freshman Jacob Graham (La Habra HS) (three steals, two goals) also had good games. Three different players spent time in the cage, led by freshmen Ariel Prado-Madera (Buena Park HS) and Brian Smith (Ocean View HS), who each recorded three blocks. The team's leading scorer, Angel Rojas (Colegio Fray Luis Amigo, Venezuela), stepped into goal and made one block after finishing the game with two goals, two assists and two steals in the field.
