The Falcons (21-6) opened with a 15-10 win over San Joaquin Delta College and followed that with a 13-11 victory over Los Angeles Valley College. On Saturday, the team will play two teams that have handed them half of their losses this season. They take on the host Rustlers at 9:20 p.m. and then face rival Long Beach City College at 4:20 p.m. in their second game.

Cerritos vs. San Joaquin Delta: The Falcons led wire to wire against the Mustangs (15-10) and were paced by the duo of sophomore Marlon Moreno (Colegio Virgen del Rosario, Venezuela) and freshman Angel Rojas (Colegio Fray Luis Amigo, Venezuela). Moreno accounted for five goals, three assists and three steals, with Rojas providing six goals and four steals. Cerritos held a 4-1 advantage at the end of the first period and were on top, 7-3 by intermission. Sophomore goalie Alfredo De La Mora (Bell Gardens HS) posted nine blocks in the win, while freshman Jesus Rojas (Colegio Fray Luis Amigo, Venezuela) dished out five assists. The trio of Peter Roldan (Downey HS), Matthew Skinas (La Serna HS) and Israel Rodriguez (Whittier HS) all finished with three steals.

Moreno and Angel Rojas each scored four times, with Roldan posting two goals, two assists and three steals in the victory. De La Mora once again finished with nine blocks and the team drew 12 ejections with three players on the edge with two ejections each.
