Volleyball: Team to take part in Breast Cancer Awareness Month

During the month of October, the Cerritos College volleyball team will be participating in the Side-Out Foundation's Dig Pink National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally, which is associated with their "Volley for the Cure" campaign. The Falcons are supporting the cause to promote breast cancer awareness and to pay their respects to those who have lost their lives and who continue to battle breast cancer.

The Falcon volleyball team will be wearing pink jerseys in matches for the whole month of October. The money that is raised through donations and t-shirt sales during the home matches in October will be donated directly to the Side-Out Foundation. In 2012 the Falcon volleyball team raised $560.00 and their goal for 2012 is $600.00.

There will be four opportunities to make donations at Cerritos home volleyball matches, which will take place at Gahr HS. Fans will have four options to make a donation to the Dig Pink National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally, which includes making a donation at the door, buying a 50/50 opportunity drawing ticket, buying a t-shirt or a direct donation to www.digpink.org.
