Down to their final out, sophomore second baseman Kylee Brown (Mayfair HS) crushed a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game against Mt. San Antonio College on Thursday at Nancy Kelly Field. The blast tied the game at 5-5, with the game needing extra innings to complete. Due to darkness, the game will have to be completed at a later date.

With two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, sophomore Jissel Caballero (Warren HS) dropped a base hit into shallow left field, while sophomore outfielder Kimberly Olivas (Warren HS) was hit by a pitch. Up stepped Brown, who drilled a 1-0 offering from Mounties pitcher Racquel Espinoza over the left-center field fence.

After allowing a first-inning run, Caballero led off the bottom of the stanza with a solo home run to tie the game. Cerritos took a 2-1 lead in the second inning when sophomore shortstop Erica Guzman (Enoch HS/William Jessup University) led off with a walk and moved to second base on a sacrifice bunt. Freshman catcher Rain Vega (La Mirada HS) drove her in with a base hit.

Mt. SAC scored three times in the fourth inning off sophomore starting pitcher Kristen Voller (Norco HS), while they added a solo run on a leadoff home run against Caballero, who came on in relief. She lasted until the sixth inning when she allowed a single and walk with one out. Freshman Carly Gutierrez (Santa Fe HS) came in and recorded two straight outs to end the inning. She also pitched a perfect seventh inning.

From the third inning until Brown's home run, the Falcons had just one hit and drew three walks.
