The Cerritos College women's soccer team spent the majority of their South Coast Conference opener buzzing the Los Angeles Harbor goal. Even though they only scored once, it was enough to keep them unbeaten on the season with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday. In the first half, Cerritos controlled the tempo of the game and eventually scored the game's lone goal in the 27th minute. On the play, sophomore Lauren Nanez (La Mirada HS) dribbled the ball from about 40 yards out and went down the sideline before spotting freshman Jennifer Torres (Firebaugh HS), who controlled the pass and scored against Seahawks (2-5-0, 0-1-0) goalie Zuri Moraga.

Throughout the game, the Falcons came close to extending their lead, but Moraga was up to the task and made 15 saves on the day, with Nanez taking seven shots. Cerritos had a extra chance to extendtheir lead, but missed on a penalty kick in the 34th minute.
