After allowing a first half goal to host East Los Angeles College on Friday, the Cerritos College women's soccer team was able to score a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes to pull out a 2-1 South Coast Conference win. The Falcons tied the game in the 80th minute, scored their game-winning goal in the 90th minute on an odd occurance.

With time running out and the Falcons (9-0-1, 4-0-0) frantically looking for that go-head goal, freshman Jazmin Aguas (San Pascual HS) fed a pass to freshman Claudia Lopez (Downey HS), who was called offside. The referee gave East LA goalie Belen Rodriguez the advantage to play on, as she had the ball in her hands, but thinking that the referee had blown the play dead, set the ball on the grass. Acting quickly, Lopez took advantage of the mistake, and scored into an open net for the winning goal.

Down 1-0 and time running out, Aguas recovered the ball at midfield on the left flank and sent a pass to freshman Jasmine Cornejo (Artesia HS), who was making a run along the right side. Cornejo cut inside her defender, where she found the ball at her feet and with only Guzman to beat. She faked right and cut left, where she had an open goal and tapped the ball into the net.

The Huskies capitalized on a bad Falcon pass in the first half to take their lead. The pass allowed a breakaway by Jessica Gizman against freshman goalkeeper Maria Santoyo (Universidad de Guadalajara HS). With the Cerritos defenders closing the gap, a shot that appeared to go wide, caught the inside of the goal post and went into the net.
