Getting goals from four different players, the Cerritos College women's soccer team posted a 4-0 South Coast Conference win at  El Camino College on Friday. The Falcons (15-0-1, 9-0-1) remain ranked #1 in the country by the NSCAA and have four more regular season games. They will travel to East Los Angeles College on Tuesday for a 3:00 p.m. contest.

Cerritos opened the scoring in the eighth minute when freshman Carolina Ornelas (Artesia HS) received the ball on the right side of the box and served the ball into the box for freshman Clara Gomez (El Modena HS), who scored her second goal of the season. In the previous game, Gomez, normally a defensive stalwart, posted a pair of assists.

Less than five minutes later freshman Demi Lomeli (Bishop Amat HS) won the battle for the ball at the top of the box, and calmly fed sophomore Claudia Lopez (Downey HS), who one-timed her shot into the back of the net for a quick 2-0 advantage. It was 3-0 before the end of the first half, as sophomore April Juarez (Bishop Amat HS/USC) controlled the ball in the middle of the field and hit Ornelas on the right side behind the Warrior defense. That put Ornelas in alone against the goalkeeper and she easily scored.

Freshman goalkeeper Adrianna Salazar (Downey HS) started the game for the Falcons and made one save, while sophomore Alexis Carrillo (Bishop Amat HS) played the final 45 minutes and also recorded one stop. Cerritos added to their lead with a goal in the 55th minute when Lopez moved the ball from midfield and connected with freshman Nayeli Requejo (Bishop Amat HS) behind the six-yard box, where she one-times the ball in for a goal.
