On the strength of their 3-0 win over East Los Angeles College on Friday, the Cerritos College women's soccer team clinched their 10th straight South Coast Conference title. The Falcons (15-0-3, 11-0-1) have also won five CCCAA State Championships and three NSCAA National Championships during that period, including the last three state titles. The team has two regular season games remaining and will host El Camino College at 3:00 p.m. next Tuesday.

Helping assist Cerritos in their second straight shutout win was freshman Natalie deLeon (St. Joseph HS), who played a role in all three goals against the Huskies (9-7-3, 7-2-3). In the 26th minute, she successfully fought for a loose ball in the box and spotted freshman Amber Whitmore (Los Alamitos HS). Her perfectly placed pass left Whitmore open for a chip shot into an open corner of the net for the game's first goal.

deLeon, who has a team-leading 14 goals and 14 assists, continued the offensive attack for the Falcons, as she drew two defenders, which opened up space for freshman Carolina Jaramillo (Cetis 58, Tijuana HS). A pass that went through the two defenders allowed Jaramillo to slip a shot under ELAC goalkeeper Penelope Roman in the 53rd minute, who came well out of her net to try and defend the ball.

Jaramillo finished a three-on-one attack in the 66th minute led by deLeon, who chipped a pass into the middle to Whitmore. Maintaining her stride, Whitmore quickly sent the ball to Jaramillo and she chipped home her 14th goal of the year.

Sophomore goalkeeper Ruby Nichols (Bishop Amat HS) secured her eighth shutout of the year by posting four saves, including a point blank shot.
