The Cerritos College women's soccer team, fresh off winning their 10th straight South Coast Conference championship, were seeded #4 for the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The Falcons (18-0-3), unbeaten in their last 39 games (36-0-3) are also the three-time defending CCCAA State Champions and are looking to become the first school to win four straight titles since Long Beach City College accomplished the feat from 2000-03.

The winner of the game will face either #6 San Bernardino Valley (15-2-3) or #12 Santa Barbara City (9-5-5) on Tuesday, November 24.

Cerritos will be hosting Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division champion Mt. San Jacinto College (16-3-0), who is seeded #13. The conference title by the Eagles is their second in school history, with the other coming in 1998. They secured the championship with shutout wins in seven of their last eight games, including their final four contests.

On the year, the Falcons are second in the state with 94 goals scored and are led by freshman Carolina Jaramillo (Cetis 58, Tijuana HS), who is third in the state with 23 goals and fifth with 57 points. Natalie deLeon (St. Joseph HS) set a new freshman record with 20 assists, which leads the state, while she has also accounted for 16 goals. Freshman Amber Whitmore (Los Alamitos HS) has been another offensive threat with 14 goals, while freshman Jamie Peters (Bishop Amat HS) enters the post season with eight goals and 12 assists. Freshman goalie Ruby Nichols (Bishop Amat HS) leads the state with 18 wins and has seven full-game shutouts and shared two other shutouts on the season. Sophomore Malia Tilton (El Modena HS) has been one of the keys to the team's defensive success, as the Falcons have limited opponents to just 15 goals.

As for Mt. San Jacinto, they are led by Ryane McDevitt's 10 goals, while Hanna Kanagawa (8 goals and Patricia Roach (7 goals, 6 assists) are offensive weapons. Goalie Riley Ludwig has seen the most playing time in net for the Eagles and has posted seven shutouts to go along with an 0.41 goals against average. Mt. San Jacinto has allowed just 10 goals on the year, with five of them coming in two games.
