For the first time since the 2009 season, the Cerritos College women's tennis team has captured the South Coast Conference championship. The Falcons (21-1 overall) capped off an undefeated 12-0 season and the team will enter the Southern California Regional Team Playoffs on April 5 as the #1-seeded team for the first time in school history. The conference championship was the seventh in school history and first for women's coach Alvin Kim. He also led the men's team to their fourth conference title in a row this season and ninth in the last 12 years.

Winning two of the three tightly contested doubles matches, Cerritos recorded two quick singles wins to come within a win of the team victory. The duo of sophomore Jovana Milosevic (High School of Business and Law, Serbia/Hillsborough, FL CC) and freshman Danielle Pastor (Bishop Montgomery HS) accounted for three of the team's points. They locked down an 8-5 doubles win and followed that with Milosevic earning a 6-1, 6-0 win in the #5 spot on the singles ladder, while Pastor remained undefeated with her 6-0, 6-1 win at #6 on the ladder.

Sophomore Taylor Heath (Cerritos HS) finished off the team victory with her 7-5, 6-1 win in the #2 position, while freshman Valentina Polonyi (Altisa, Hungary) also came back strong after a close first game in her #4 match. She pulled out a 7-6 (7-3) win over Diana Cole in the first set and then finished her off with a 6-1 score in the second set. She also teamed with freshman Tiffany Sanchez (Long Beach Wilson HS) for an 8-6 doubles win.
