With a 23-1 record on the year and a South Coast Conference championship under their belt, the Cerritos College women's tennis team was seeded #1 for the upcoming Southern California Regional Team Playoffs. The Falcons, conference champions for the first time since 2009, have not lost to a community college team this season. Their only loss was a 6-3 score against NCAA Division III Whittier College. They will open the team playoffs on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. when the host #8-seeded Santa Barbara City College. In the first round of the playoffs last season, Cerritos defeated Santa Barbara City, 5-2.

It will be the first meeting this season between the Falcons and Vaqueros (11-3), who came in second place in the Western State Conference. With a win, Cerritos will host the winner of the match between #4 Irvine Valley College and #6 Mt. San Antonio College. The Falcons defeated the Lasers, 7-2 and the Mounties twice (7-2, 5-4) in a pair of conference matches.

The second round match will be held on Tuesday, April 12. This is the first time in school history that the Falcons have been seeded #1 for the playoffs.
