Trailing 3-2 heading into the top of the seventh inning, the Cerritos College softball team scored three times and went on to post a 5-3 win at Fullerton College on Tuesday. The Falcons (5-2) will now host Cypress College on Thursday in a 2:30 p.m. non-conference game.

The inning started with both sophomore shortstop Jenny Collazo (Paramount HS) and freshman outfielder Kimberly Olivas (Warren HS) drawing walks. Sophomore third baseman Camille Manzo (La Habra HS/Sterling (KS) College) executed a sacrifice bunt to advance the runners into scoring position. After the second out was record, sophomore outfielder Jezeree Misaalefua (Carson HS/Long Beach CC) laced a base hit to right field that plated both runs, which turned out to be the game-winning runs. Sophomore pitcher Jenny Navarro (Warren HS) followed with an RBI single for an insurance run.

Navarro, who took over in the circle in the bottom of the fifth inning for starter Kristen Voller (Norco HS), got a double play on defense in the bottom of the seventh inning to help secure the win. She tossed 2 2/3 innings and allowed just one hit.

The Falcons took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning when Collazo doubled with one out and scored on an Olivas double. After an field single by Manzo, sophomore outfielder Mackenzie Kutzke (Los Alamitos HS/University of Montana) drove in Manzo with a sacrifice fly.
