For the eighth time in the last 10 years, a member of the Cerritos College softball team was named either the South Coast Conference Player or Pitcher of the Year. This season, the conference coaches voted sophomore second baseman Jenny Collazo (Paramount HS) as the conference's Player of the Year. Collazo is one of seven players to earn all-conference recognition.

The Falcons finished the regular season with a 28-12 record and second place finish in the competitive South Coast Conference. They will find out on Saturday where they are seeded for the Southern California Regional Playoffs and who they will face next weekend when the post-season starts.

During the conference season, Collazo, a 2nd Team pick as a freshman, led all players in the conference in RBI (32), hits (32), doubles (11), triples (four) and slugging percentage (.803). She is joined on the 1st Team by freshman first  baseman Kylee Brown (Mayfair HS) and freshman outfielder Kimberly Olivas (Warren HS). Brown batted .431 and tied for the conference lead with four home runs - two were grand slams against Pasadena City College - and drove in 24 runs. As for Olivas, she hit .443, led the conference in on-base percentage (.541), while hitting a pair of home runs and drove in 16 runs.

Those selected to the 2nd Team include sophomore shortstop Camille Manzo (La Habra HS/Sterling (KS) College), sophomore third baseman/pitcher Jenny Navarro (Warren HS) and freshman pitcher Kristen Voller (Norco HS). Manzo hit at a .400 pace in conference action, while she led the conference in runs scored (27) and drove in 14 runs. Navarro, a 2nd Team pick as a freshman, batted .366 with 22 RBI at the plate and was 2-0 with a 2.50 ERA in 28 innings pitched in the circle. The team's primary pitcher, Voller went 9-5 with 53 strikeouts in 67 innings and a 3.24 ERA.

Sophomore catcher Jesseca Martinez (Lakewood HS), who batted .424 with 12 RBI in conference play, was named Honorable Mention.
