The Cerritos College softball team has announced that six of their sophomores have signed with four-year universities, while another is weighing her options. The list is headlined by third baseman Crystal Cano, who signed with Hope International University. The All-State selection played one season with the Falcons after competing her freshman season at Flynn (FL) University.

Others who have signed include catcher Krystal Purkey (Cal State Dominguez Hills), first baseman/catcher Haley Petruccelli (Marymount California University), second baseman Monique Ramirez (California Lutheran University), pitcher Ana Pedroza (Whittier College) and outfielder Roxanna Jensen (Grace, NE University). Outfielder Joanna Perruccio, who was an All-State pick as a freshman, is still considering several schools, but has not made a decision yet.

Krystal Purkey signed with Cal State Dominguez Hills Cano was the team leader in home runs (14), RBI (63) and batting average (.450) to earn 3CFCA All-State Team honors. In addition, finished third in the Player of the Year voting in the South Coast Conference and was named to the 1st Team. Her 63 RBI were third most in school history in one season, while her 14 round-trippers were the fourth most. She also had a .977 fielding percentage while spending the season and third base and first base.

As for Purkey (pictured, left), a 2nd Team All-SCC pick, she clubbed nine home runs and drove in 33 runs while batting .290, with Petruccelli hitting at a .313 clip with six home runs and 30 RBI, while drawing 31 walks on the season, which were the sixth most in a season. The 15 career home runs by Purkey are the eighth most in school history. Ramirez, and all-conference honorable mention selection, batted .333 with 13 stolen bases, while Pedroza stepped into the team's top pitching role late in the season and finished with a 13-10 record with a 3.85 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 152.1 innings. Jensen was a key reserve off the bench and hit .286 with a home run and four stolen bases.
