The Cerritos College women's tennis team opened the 2013 season with an 8-1 loss against host Riverside College on Tuesday. The Falcons (0-1)will now travel to Orange Coast College for a 2:00 p.m. non-conference match on Thursday.

The match saw Cerritos drop five of the six singles matches in straight sets, with the only win coming in the #1 position, as freshman Samantha Judan (Bishop Montgomery HS) won a tough 6-4, 7-6 (5) battle against Briana Bowers. Two of the five singles loses resulted in the Falcons getting swept, while the duo of sophomore Cyd Dionson (Western HS) and freshman Natali Perez (Lakewood HS) each winning two games in each set. In all three doubles matches, Cerritos was defeated, 8-2
