The Cerritos College women's tennis team didn't need much time to polish off host College of the Desert on Tuesday. The Falcons, playing without sophomore Patricia Espinosa (El Rancho HS/Hope International University), swept past the Roadrunners, 7-2, with the only losses coming in the #6 singles and #3 doubles position due to only having five players. Cerritos (5-3), who matched their win total from last season, will now open South Coast Conference play at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday when they host Mt. San Antonio College.

In defeating the Roadrunners, the Falcons dropped just two games on the day, as three of the five singles matches were won by 6-0, 6-0 scores, as were both doubles matches. At the top of the ladder, freshman Samantha Judan (Bishop Montgomery HS) posted a sweep of Alyssa Price-Oroco, while sophomore Cyd Dionson (Western HS) and freshman Natali Perez (Lakewood HS) did the same in the bottom two positions. 

In doubles action, Judan and freshman Rianne Ilagan (Bellflower HS) teamed with Dionson and Perez to record 8-0 victories.
