Knowing they would be playing shorthanded, the Cerritos College women's tennis team knew they would be giving away two team points against Palomar College on Friday. The Falcons had only five players in uniform and felt that if they were at full strength, they could have defeated the host Comets. But the two team points were the difference in a 6-3 non-conference loss, which concluded their regular season for the Falcons at 9-13. Cerritos will now host the South Coast Conference Tournament, with the first round to take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.

At the top of both the singles and doubles ladder, Cerritos recorded a pair of victories with freshman Samantha Judan (Bishop Montgomery HS) earning a 6-4, 6-1 win against Katie Stowe. In the top doubles match, Judan teamed with freshman Rianne Ilagan (Bellflower HS) teamed for an 8-5 win over Karleyne Ishima-Oien and Remy Littrell.

Also earning a win on the day was freshman Natali Perez (Lakewood HS) in the #5 singles position, as she registered a 6-2, 2-6, 10-7 win. The Falcons came close to a second win in doubles play, but the tandem of Cyd Dionson (Western HS) and Perez came up short in a 9-7 score.
