With their 9-0 non-conference win over visiting Rio Hondo College on Tuesday, the Cerritos College women's tennis team evened their record at 3-3. The home match was the first of the season for the Falcons, who will now go on to play their next two matches on the road. They will travel to Ventura College on Saturday for a 12:00 p.m. non-conference match.

In the win over the Roadrunners, Cerritos swept all six singles matches, with sophomore Patricia Espinosa (El Rancho HS/Hope International University) escaping the first set, 7-6 (5) in the #6 position, and followed that with a 6-0 win over Alexis Delgado. Freshman Samantha Judan (Bishop Montgomery HS) posted a solid 6-2, 6-1 win in the #1 singles position, while freshman Rianne Ilagan (Bellflower HS) won her match at #2, 6-0, 6-3.

The trio of freshman Jessica Alcayde (Cabrillo HS), sophomore Cyd Dionson (Western HS) and freshman Natali Perez (Lakewood HS) all won their matches in straight sets to clinch the team victory.

All three doubles teams won in straight sets, with Dionson and Perez wearing down their opponents by a 7-6 (11), 6-2 score, while Judan and Ilagan, along with Alcayde and Espinosa each losing just four games each.
