As the regular season is about to come to a close, the Cerritos College women's tennis team is looking to gain as much confidence and experience as possible. The Falcons (9-12), who travel to Palomar College on Friday in their final regular season match, posted a 7-2 non-conference win over visiting Victor Valley College on Tuesday.

It was a clean sweep for Cerritos, who suited up only five players, with the Rams earning their two team points via forfeits. Both sophomore Cyd Dionson (Western HS) and freshman Rianne Ilagan (Bellflower HS) shut out their opponents in singles place, while freshmen Samantha Judan (Bishop Montgomery HS) and Natali Perez (Lakewood HS) surrendered just one game in their win. Freshman Jessica Alcayde (Cabrillo HS) won, 6-2 in her first set and then finished off Bethany Weston, 6-0 in the second set.
