The Cerritos College women's tennis team evened their South Coast Conference record on Tuesday with a 9-0 win over Long Beach City College. The Falcons (6-4, 1-1), who have now eclipsed their win total for all of last season, will now travel to El Camino College on Thursday for a 3:00 p.m. conference match.

It was a straight-forward win for Cerritos, who swept all five of the singles matches that were played, while they won both doubles matches easily. The Vikings suited up just five players, so they were forced to forfeit the #6 singles and #3 doubles matches.

At the top of the singles ladder, freshman Samantha Judan (Bishop Montgomery HS) started the day with a 6-1, 6-1 win, while freshman Rianna Ilagan (Bellflower HS) posted a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Playing in the #3 spot was freshman Jessica Alcayde (Cabrillo HS), who finished off Gaby Zarate with a 6-4, 6-1 score, with sophomore Cyd Dionson (Western HS) eventually defeating Maria Toledo by a 7-6, 6-4 count. The match was clinched with a 6-2, 6-2 win by freshman Natali Perez (Lakewood HS).

In doubles play, Dionson and Perez shut out Zarate and Toledo, 8-0, with Judan and Ilagan recording an 8-2 victory.
