Freshman Jenny Collazo (Paramount HS) drilled an RBI double to drive home freshman Cheyann Samuelson (Western HS) from second base in the bottom of the seventh inning for the winning run in a 2-1 decision against Glendale at Nancy Kelly Field. Samuelson led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a walk and then stole second base. After the first out was recorded, Collazo laced a 1-2 pitch into right-center field to drive home winning run. The Falcons (1-0) will host Santa Ana College at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Cerritos held a 1-0 lead through the first five innings until the Vaqueros (0-1) scored a run against sophomore pitcher Ana Pedroza (La Mirada HS/Caldwell, NJ College). It was a pair of errors that aided Glendale in scoring the run, including one from Pedroza (1-0), who walked in the tying run with two outs.

The Falcons took their 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning when sophomore Joanna Perruccio (Long Beach Wilson HS) led off with a walk and then scored on Collazo's double. Cerritos had five hits and drew seven walks on the day, while the pitching duo of Pedroza and freshman Jennifer Navarro (Warren HS) limited Glendale to just two hits.
