Given several opportunities to add to their season total of five grand slams, the Cerritos College softball team upped their total to six in a 15-4, 5-inning South Coast Conference win over Los Angeles Harbor College at Nancy Kelly Field on Tuesday. The Falcons (15-9, 9-3) snapped a three-game losing streak, with the team scoring eight runs in the first inning and ending the game with six more in the fourth inning. The team will host Mt. San Antonio College at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.

In the bottom of the first inning, Cerritos missed out on several chances to hit a grand slam, but still executed with two three-run doubles. Sophomore outfielder Haley Petruccelli (Torrance HS), who hit the team's sixth grand slam in the fourth inning, singled with the bases loaded to bring in the first run of the game. Freshman outfielder Jasmine Javier (Cerritos HS) followed with a bases-clearing double to give the team a 4-1 lead. Before the inning would end, sophomore first baseman Crystal Cano (Norwalk HS/Lynn (FL) University), who has a pair of grand slams on the year, doubled in three more runs for an 8-1 lead.

The Seahawks (11-15, 2-11) received all of their offense from Lexi Ponce, who hit a solo home run in the first inning and a three-run blast in the second inning to drive in all of their runs.

Petruccelli wasn't done, as she launched a 1-0 pitch over the left-field fence to cap off the scoring in the fourth inning for a grand slam. Cano singled in her second at-bat with the bases full and finished with four RBI. Petruccelli led the team with five RBI, while Javier had three. Sophomore outfielder Joanna Perruccio (Long Beach Wilson HS) scored three times and stole a base, with freshman Jennifer Navarro (Warren HS) coming on in relief to earn the pitching win.
