The Cerritos College softball team dropped their second game in a row, as they allowed a run in the bottom of the seventh inning. On Tuesday, ECC Compton Center scored in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 2-1 decision, while host El Camino pushed a run across the plate for a 5-4 decision, sending the Falcons to their second straight defeat. The team will look to snap their skid on Saturday when they travel to Cypress College for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference game.

Trailing 4-1 after five innings, Cerritos (14-9, 8-4) scored three straight runs to tie the game heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. With two outs and runners and first and second base, freshman pitcher Jennifer Navarro (Warren HS) allowed a run-scoring to winning pitcher Reyna Trejo to end the game.

The Falcons started their comeback in the sixth inning when sophomore third baseman Crystal Cano (Norwalk HS/Lynn (FL) University) led off with a double and advanced to third base on a single by Navarro. With runners and second and third base, sophomore first baseman Haley Petruccelli (Torrance HS) singled in a run, with freshman Jesseca Martinez (Lakewood HS) bringing home the second run of the inning on a pinch-hit single. The inning ended with freshman pinch-hitter Karissa Hamilton (Long Beach Wilson HS) hitting into a double play.

The game was tied in the top of the seventh inning on an RBI single from Navarro, which plated sophomore outfielder Joanna Perruccio (Long Beach Wilson HS), who led off with a single.

Perruccio, Cano and Navarro all finished the game with a pair of hits.
