The Cerritos College softball team scored five runs in the first and fourth innings to propel them to a 14-1, five-inning win over Los Angeles Harbor College on Thursday. The Falcons (11-3, 6-0) will now play a doubleheader at Ventura College (5-10) on Saturday.

In the top of the first inning, the team received consecutive hits from Krystal Purkey (Gahr HS) and Jennifer Navarro (Warren HS) to drive in runs, while freshman Jasmine Javier (Cerritos HS) brought home a run on a fielder's choice and Monique Ramirez (Torrance HS) collected an RBI single.

The early run support would be enough for sophomore pitcher Ana Pedroza (La Mirada HS/Caldwell (NJ) College), who allowed one run (unearned) on six hits for the complete game win.

With the big win, it allowed the Falcons to utilize their bench, which resulted in freshman Raquel Norzagary (Pioneer HS) going 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI and two runs scored. Sophomore Stefani Gonzalez (El Rancho HS) delivered a two-run double in a four-run fifth inning, while freshman Karissa Hamilton (Long Beach Wilson HS) added an RBI single and walk.

Sophomore third baseman Crystal Cano (Norwalk HS/Lynn (FL) University) went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI, while Navarro added a pair of hits, with Javier scoring three times.
