For the second time in his career, Cerritos College women's soccer coach Ruben Gonzalez was named the South Coast Conference Women's Coach of the Year. The award, which is based on accomplishments from the 2013-14 season, is the second for Gonzalez, who received the accolade after the 2011-12 season.

"I am always humbled by personal awards, because it's a team effort from the coaching staff and the players," said Gonzalez, who led his Falcons to a 24-0-1 record and their second straight CCCAA State Championship and National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Championship among Division III (non-scholarship) schools. It was also the fourth state championship and third national championship for Cerritos.

In addition to receiving the conference award, Gonzalez was voted the South Coast Conference Coach of the Year, Far West Region Coach of the Year and NSCAA National Coach of the Year.
